Dyson V11 Torque Drive vs LG Cord Zero Ultimate: Which One Is The Best Bang For The Buck?

I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Read more

In this article, I will refer to the LG Dyson V11 Torque Drive vs LG Cord Zero Ultimate to point out the pros and cons of each and decide which is better. I also compared two upgraded versions, the LG Cordzero Kompressor All-in-One vs the Dyson V11 Outsize, where the second one had a resounding victory thanks to its smart charging station.

If you just love the Dyson name but don’t want to spend a fortune on exorbitant models like the V15 and V12, the Dyson V11, the winner,  is the way to go. You will get some great features, such as the LCD screen with real-time battery monitoring and automatically adjusted suction capabilities. Of course, it lacks the latest punches from Dyson.

Samsung may be a tech behemoth more familiar with refrigerators and washing machines, but they also offer a small range of floor care devices, such as the LG Cord Zero Ultimate. As a model made to compete with other high-end products, it has excellent cleaning performance and a great set of attachments. The most charming part is its self-standing charging station, which can charge two batteries at the same time.

Dyson V11 Torque Drive Vs LG Cord Zero Ultimate: Differences

The Dyson V11 Torque Drive wins 3-1 against the LG Cord Zero. It passed all my cleaning tests with great results, has a great set of attachments, sports a large and easy-to-empty dust cup, and features a handy LCD display.

Cleaning Performance

Winner: Tie

Suction Power And Floorheads

At its highest power setting, the Dyson V11 Torque Drive maxes out at 185 AW, while the Outsize version peaks at 220 AW. The LG CordZero Ultimate has a maximum suction power of 140 AW, whereas the CordZero Kompressor produces 200 AW of suction power.

As for the included floorhead, the Dyson V11 Torque Drive comes out of the box with a multi-surface floorhead (Torque Drive cleaning head), which can work on both hard floors and carpets but is ideal for carpets. The LG CordZero Ultimate, on the other hand, is better with a soft roller and a multi-surface brush roll.

LG CordZero Ultimate’s floorheads (above) and Dyson V11’s cleaning heads (below)

Hard Floor

On my hard floor, the Dyson V11 easily picked up the majority of the debris of all sizes and splashed a minor amount of smaller debris because of the spinning brush roller. It didn’t struggle with large debris like many models without soft rollers, such as the Tineco A11 Hero. The result is good, and I could make it better with the soft roller, which I purchased separately.

The LG CordZero, with its dedicated soft roller, passed my hard floor test with excellent results – nothing was left behind, which the Kompressor All-in-One version failed to achieve since it doesn’t have this type of cleaning head.

Carpet

On my carpets, both were equally impressive, with approximately 100% of debris picked up easily. At the highest setting, the LG Cord Zero worked best, while the Dyson V11 tended to suck down on thick carpets, making it harder to maneuver and capture large debris. So I switched to the auto setting and found that everything was okay.

Hair Removal

I have nothing to complain about their ability to pick up hair – nothing is left behind. But I had to spend a few minutes at the end of the vacuuming session removing and untangling their rollers. Even if it’s a simple task, you should consider buying a model with an anti-tangle system, such as the Dyson V12 or V15, if you don’t want to waste your time on it.

I also found the power punch nozzle (Cord Zero Ultimate) worked great at capturing pet hair, with almost no hair staying on the brush roll, which the mini motorized tool (Dyson V11) failed to do.

The Dyson V11 arrives with a wall-mounted charging station that offers a neat and tidy solution for charging the vacuum and storing a few of the attachments. There is a storage clip that fits onto the wand, allowing me to carry two attachments. Dyson also has another method to store attachments,  a self-standing charger, but you must purchase it separately. It’s an expensive add-on, but it solves a widespread issue for wall-mounted charging stations: can’t keep all attachments secure in one place.

On the flip side, the LG Cord Zero Ultimate includes a self-standing charging station. I find it more or less similar to the Z-station of the Samsung Jet 90 but more versatile as it can also be wall-mounted. It can also charge two batteries simultaneously, but it would be better to have room for all the attachments. One of the best innovations in the vacuuming industry, in my opinion, is the LG CordZero Kompressor’s AIO (All-In-One) charging station, which could conceal the full set of attachments within its casing.

Weight And Maneuverability

The Dyson V11 weighs around 6.7 lbs, which is neither heavy nor particularly lightweight for a cord-free vacuum. Whoever you are, I bet you will have no trouble moving and carrying it up/down the stairs. But using it for a long period can cause hand fatigue since it’s top-heavy—another common problem with cordless vacuums.

Weighing about 5.95 pounds, the LG CordZero is theoretically not heavy at all, but it also feels slightly off-balance since the top head is disproportionate with the extension wand and nozzle. Still, it is still comfortable to grip and a breeze to lug around the floors.

These machines have swivel heads, allowing for easy, sharp turns. Both are lightweight enough to be used as handheld vacuums. They can also go under the interior easily, but it would be perfect to have headlights to ensure nothing was missed.

Battery Life

Auto mode: ≈ 35- 38 minsPower mode: ≈ 19 mins

The LG CordZero includes two lithium-ion batteries out of the box. When the vacuum is packed into the self-standing charging station, the installed battery will start charging automatically. Also, the spare battery can be charged simultaneously with the main one since there is a dedicated slot for it.

The Dyson V11, like the V15, is powered by a click-in battery that snaps into the base of its handheld. The purchase only includes one battery, but it is wise to spend extra bucks on a second battery to ensure the vacuum never runs out of juice while you’re struggling with your cleaning task.

Dustbin And Filter System

Winner: Dyson V11

The Dyson V11 sports a 0.75-liter dust canister, which, in my opinion, is big for a cord-free vacuum. Emptying it is child’s play: grab a red lever and do a sliding up and down motion a few times until all the contents are pushed down to the trash can below. It reminded me of the reloading mechanism of a shotgun, which I was very accustomed to from the CrossFire game.

The LG Cord Zero’s dust cup has a smaller capacity of about 0.399 liters. The LG Cord Zero’s dust cup has a smaller capacity of about 0.399 liters, resulting in more trips to the trash bin to empty it. Emptying it is based on a quick-release mechanism: press a release button, the hatch opens, and all the dust and dirt are pulled down by gravity.

The CordZero Ultimate has a 5-step filtration system that is expected to trap up to 99.99% of dust particles. It includes a primary filter, cyclones, and a post-motor (HEPA) filter – All can be easily detached and washed to reduce maintenance costs and maintain the machine’s performance.

The Dyson V11 includes a sealed system and a washable HEPA filter, which is easily accessible at the top of the handheld unit. For people with severe asthma and allergies, the sealed system is a lifesaver since it prevents allergens from escaping.

Utilities

Winner: Dyson V11

Display Screen

The Dyson 11 Torque Drive comes with a digital screen on the back of the handheld unit, which shows the current cleaning mode, maintenance alerts, and, most importantly, the estimated remaining run time. The V11 Animal version lacks this handy screen. There is an on-screen button that allows switching between three modes: eco, auto, and boost. In auto mode, the vacuum can automatically adjust its suction based on the type of surface you are cleaning, thanks to the Dynamic Load Sensor.

The LG Cord Zero has no screen at all. It also has a 3-tiered battery icon representing battery life (full, mid-range, or low).  It won’t tell users what cleaning mode you’re in, which is a bit inconvenient for absent-minded people.

On/Off Control

Turning the Dyson V11 on/off is based on a pistol-like trigger, so the machine only drains the battery when you actually use it. But its Achilles heel is that it makes users experience hand fatigue. Many manufacturers have added the trigger lock feature to their products, such as the Tineco Pure One S11, to put an end to this problem.

The LG CordZero, on the other hand, uses a button to enable/disable the vacuum and two others to switch between the three modes: normal, power, and turbo. It seems Dyson realized the benefits of physical buttons, so they put a clown’s nose-like button on the V12, the latest-of-the-line model, instead of using a trigger as its siblings do.
