The Tineco Pure One S11 vs Dyson V11 is somewhat evenly matched because both of them are the best-selling vacuums of their brands. Having tested both, I personally give the edge to the Dyson V11.

The Dyson V11 stands out with its powerful suction motor, which results in superior cleaning performance, particularly on carpets. Additionally, it offers a longer battery life compared to the Tineco PURE ONE S11, ensuring extended cleaning sessions. The Dyson V11 also boasts a more advanced dustbin and filtration system, enhancing its overall functionality.

While the Dyson V11 takes the lead, the Tineco PURE ONE S11 remains an excellent vacuum cleaner. Tineco Pure One S11 vs Dyson V11: Differences

When comparing the Tineco Pure One S11 vs Dyson V11 vacuum cleaners, the Dyson V11 emerges as the winner with a score of 3-1 in terms of cleaning performance, design and convenience, dustbin, and filtration system. Let’s explore a head-to-head comparison to understand why.

Cleaning Performance

The Winner: Dyson V11

Solution Power

The Tineco Pure One S11 features a 130AW motor, while the Dyson V11 surpasses it with a higher capacity of 185AW. This higher capacity gives the Dyson V11 an edge in cleaning performance, particularly on surfaces such as carpets, blankets, and similar materials. However, when it comes to hard floors, both vacuums deliver comparable cleaning performance.

Hard Floor Performance

Tineco Pure One S11 comes with a soft roller head which is effective for cleaning hard floors
Tineco Pure One S11 comes with a soft roller head which is effective for cleaning hard floors

The regular floor head, found in both versions of Pure One S11 (Grey and Tango), falls short when it comes to cleaning hard floors effectively. Its low clearance and small front gates make it incapable of picking up larger debris on such surfaces. While it may suffice for fine debris, anything beyond that renders it largely ineffective.

However, the tables turn when considering the Tineco Pure One S11’s soft roller head, available only in the Tango version. It is widely regarded as one of the top-notch attachments for effective hard floor cleaning. The Tineco’s soft roller tool proved to be more efficient at picking up debris on hard floors than the V11’s Digital Motorbar cleaner head. However, the discrepancy between the two was not significant.

The Pure One S11 effortlessly tackles various types of debris, from bulky items like cereal to smaller particles like rice, without any hindrance, even as its dustbin fills up.

The Dyson V11 does not come with a soft roller head; instead, it is equipped with the Digital Motorbar cleaner head. While the Digital Motorbar cleaner head can be used on hard floors, it does pose a higher risk of potentially scratching the surface due to the absence of padding. If you have to tack the hard floor quite a lot, I recommend you buy the soft roller separately, and I have confirmed that it fits the V11.

I often use the “Auto” mode and open the gates on the clear head completely when cleaning hard floors, and the performance is adequate even when it does not come with a soft roller head. It effectively clears away small debris like rice, but I need to make an additional pass to remove bulkier debris, such as cereal completely.

Carpet Performance

Dyson V11 is the best cordless for deep cleaning carpet
Dyson V11 is the best cordless for deep cleaning carpet

On average, cordless vacuums don’t have as much power as corded vacuums do, so deep cleaning carpets is usually a weakness for them. But that is not the case with the Dyson V11. It stands out as the best cordless vacuum I’ve personally tested for deep cleaning carpets. It effectively removes deep-down embedded dirt, leaving the carpet as clean as when it was first purchased.

One problem I’ve noticed is that when using the Dyson V11 with the gates fully closed on thick or long carpets, the seal can be overly good, making it challenging to push and potentially causing fatigue in the arm. A simple solution is to open up the gates, allowing more air to enter, which helps alleviate this issue.

The Tineco Pure One S11 performs exceptionally well with carpets when using the standard head. I was pleasantly surprised to see it effortlessly pick up debris of all types and sizes from my floor without any issues. However, it still falls slightly behind the Dyson V11.

Design & Convenience

The Winner: Dyson V11

Weight And Maneuverability

I found the Tineco Pure One S11 to be quite lightweight, weighing around 5.7 pounds. I was pleased by how easy it was to maneuver and vacuum with just one hand for an extended period.

However, I do have one minor complaint. Unlike the Dyson V11, the Tineco Pure One S11 cannot lie completely flat. This made it a bit more challenging to slip under the table or other furniture to clean.

The Dyson V11 is similarly lightweight, weighing approximately 6.7 pounds. Its maneuverability is enhanced by the swivel head, allowing for easy navigation and the ability to slide it under furniture effortlessly.

It is compact and lightweight when using the Pure One S11 as a handheld vacuum.
It is compact and lightweight when using the Pure One S11 as a handheld vacuum.

Both the Tineco Pure One S11 and the Dyson V11 can be reconfigured into handheld mode, making them significantly lighter and more compact. In this handheld configuration, I found the Tineco Pure One S11 to be more comfortable to use due to its lighter handle weight compared to the Dyson V11.

Storing

Both the Dyson V11 and Tineco Pure One S11 are easy to store. These vacuums effortlessly fit into tight spaces, whether it’s a humble broom closet or sliding discreetly under a bed.

I am truly impressed by one exceptional feature of on-board tool storage on the Dyson V11. It allows for attaching up to two brushes or tools directly onto the vacuum’s sleek frame without adding much bulk. Thanks to this onboard tool storage, every tool remains effortlessly within my reach, bringing a touch of magic to my cleaning tasks. Furthermore, the docking station of the Dyson V11 provides additional slots for tool storage.

The Tineco Pure One S11 also features a docking station that enables it to stand upright. Additionally, it offers a clip-on storage rack for two of its included attachments. However, unlike the Dyson V11, the Tineco Pure One S11 does not provide onboard storage for tools.

Battery Life

Tineco claims to provide approximately 40 minutes of runtime on the Pure One S11’s Auto mode, which I found to be accurate during my usage. When pushed to its maximum power setting, the Pure One S11 lasted around 10 and a half minutes, running longer than the Dyson V11.

On the other hand, the Dyson V11 boasts advanced battery technology that allows it to run for up to 60 minutes in Eco mode. However, I was slightly disappointed when using it in maximum power mode, as it provided only 8 minutes of runtime.

Overall, while the Tineco Pure One S11 offers a longer runtime on maximum power compared to the Dyson V11, the Dyson V11 excels in Eco mode with its extended battery life.

Dustbin & Filtration System

The Winner: Dyson V11

Dustbin

Dyson V11's dustbin

The Dyson V11 features a dirt bin with a capacity of approximately 0.76 liters. One aspect I appreciate is Dyson’s hygienic system, which includes a  ‘point and shoot’ mechanism for pushing dirt downward. The bin is easy to empty, and generally speaking, debris does not get stuck in there. However, in cases where there is a significant amount of pet hair or if the bin is filled to its maximum capacity, some clogging may occur, although this happens only occasionally.

Comparatively, the Tineco S11 has a dustbin capacity of 0.6 liters, which is slightly smaller than the Dyson V11.  Its emptying mechanism relies on a trap door and gravity, with a broader base for effective debris disposal. In practice, I often need to manually remove long strands of hair that tend to wrap around the metallic filter piece in the middle of the bin.

Sealed Filtration System

The Tineco Pure One S11 incorporates a comprehensive filtration system consisting of a metal mesh pre-filter, a cloth pre-filter, and a post-motor HEPA filter. Tineco states that its filtration system can effectively eliminate 99.97% of dirt particles measuring 0.3 microns in size.

They are all washable. To be honest, I find it a bit time-consuming when I have to wash the mesh filter and pre-filter after every use. But I still have to do it to prevent the filters from deteriorating rapidly.

The Tineco Pure One S11 incurs some recurring costs as part of its maintenance. The HEPA filter must be replaced annually, while the pre-filter should be replaced every six months. To simplify the process, I find it convenient to purchase a Replacement Filter Kit, ensuring that I have the required filters readily available when it’s time for a change. This kit includes:

  • 1x HEPA filter
  • 2x Pre-filters

Dyson V11’s sealed system with HEPA filtration is free of leaks after many months, which is an impressive quality not always guaranteed in other vacuums. Specifically, the Pure One S11 still leaks a little bit.

In addition, the Dyson V11’s filter is designed to last the lifetime of the vacuum as long as it is cleaned regularly. This not only ensures long-term performance but also saves you from recurring costs associated with filter replacements.

Utilities

The Winner: Tineco Pure One S11

On/Off Control

The Tineco Pure One S11 features a trigger mechanism for activation, but it offers the convenience of a locking lever. This lever allows the vacuum to stay powered on without the need to continuously hold down the trigger, enhancing comfort during extended cleaning sessions.

On the other hand, the Dyson V11 requires the trigger on its handle to be continuously held for operation. By keeping my finger on the trigger while it’s running, I can help conserve some battery life. While this is not a big problem for quick clean-ups, it can become quite bothersome when I have to clean my entire house thoroughly.

iLoop Smart Sensor – Dust Sensor

Tineco Pure One S11: Dirt sensor
Tineco Pure One S11: Dirt sensor

The Tineco Pure One S11 has an “iLoop Smart Sensor” technology, which utilizes intelligent sensors to enhance cleaning performance. It has an internal dirt sensor that detects particles and then uses that information to adjust the suction power up or down depending on how dirty the floors are.

The primary benefit of this is to make its battery life more efficient, which it really does if you keep it in Auto mode, which I highly recommend.

In contrast, the Dyson V11 does not offer a similar feature or any other feature with the same ability to adjust suction power based on the floor’s dirtiness.

Dynamic Load Sensor Technology – Surface Sensor

Dynamic Load Sensor allows the Dyson V11 adjust its suction power based on the surface beneath it
Dynamic Load Sensor allows the Dyson V11 to adjust its suction power based on the surface beneath it

The Tineco Pure One S11 can adjust its suction force based on the vacuumed dirt. At the same time, the Dyson V11 utilizes Dynamic Load Sensor technology to adjust suction based on the type of floor being cleaned.

This automatic power adjustment feature is unique to the Dyson V11, where a sensor in the cleaner head detects if you’re vacuuming hard floors or carpet and then adjusts the power up or down accordingly. It makes that already amazing battery life and battery efficiency even better.

However, I must admit that the technology in the Dyson V11 disappointed me a little bit. Its movement wasn’t always smooth when transitioning from hard floors to carpets, maybe because the sensor is not sensitive enough to adjust the power when switching between different floor types promptly.

Note that the DLS technology is exclusively available in the higher-priced Torque Drive version of the Dyson V11.

Companion App Automation

Tineco Pure One S11 can pair with an app, which is cool! Pairing the vacuum and the app is a simple process, and the app itself is highly responsive with minimal lag. With the app, you can conveniently adjust the power setting, check the remaining battery life, and keep track of filter replacement and dustbin emptying times. Additionally, the app provides usage details for previous cleaning sessions, offering a comprehensive overview of your vacuuming activities.

And Tineco is one of the only cordless vacuum companies I know that has an app, but I find the features to be just minimally useful.

LED Lights

Tineco Pure One S11 has LED lights on the forehead
Tineco Pure One S11 has LED lights on the forehead

Tineco Pure One S11 got LED lights on the forehead, which I like a lot. It does a great job illuminating the floor so I can see clearly. Most important, it’s going to allow me to really focus and hone in on any dirt, dust, and debris that’s right in front of my vacuum cleaner so I can make sure that I get that perfect clean every time.

On the other hand, the Dyson V11 does not offer this LED light feature. However, if you have a strong preference for Dyson vacuums and desire an advanced lighting feature, the Dyson V15 could be a suitable option, as it incorporates a Green laser that is even more advanced than the LED lights of the Tineco Pure One S11.
