When it comes to cordless stick vacuums, JIMMY JV85 Pro vs Dyson V11 are two powerful models that will be worth your money. Both offer powerful suction and convenient, cord-free operation, making them ideal for quick cleanups and everyday use. However, some key differences between these two models may make one a better fit for your cleaning needs and preferences.

The Dyson V11 features a sleek, modern look with a digital display screen that provides real-time information about battery life, filter maintenance, and more. It also comes with a powerful motor and advanced system that effectively captures dust, dirt, and allergens from all types of flooring surfaces. If you want a powerful and convenient cordless stick vacuum cleaner, you should try this one.

The JIMMY JV85 Pro, on the other hand, has a more traditional design with a simple LED display and a folding extension tube that allows for easy storage and maneuverability. It makes me impressed with its strong suction power and unique dustbin design that makes it easy to empty and clean. This will be a good choice for those who are in need of a powerful machine at an affordable price.

JIMMY JV85 Pro vs Dyson V11: Differences

After looking at the differences between these two vacuum cleaners, I concluded that no one would win in this comparison because both of them are Tweedledum and Tweedledee. To know why, please read the breakdown below.

Cleaning performance

The JIMMY JV85 Pro

Performance on hard floors

My tests show that the JIMMY JV85 Pro performed better than the Dyson V11 on hard floors. The reason is that each machine comes with a different type of cleaning head.

The Jimmy JV85 Pro comes with a soft-roller brush that is specifically designed for cleaning hard floors. The soft-roller brush is made of a combination of soft and hard bristles that work together to effectively remove dirt and debris from hard floors without scratching or damaging the surface. This cleaning head can pick up small to large particles such as flour, sugar, cereal crumbs, rice, breakfast cereals, etc. In addition to the ability to clean, the soft brush roll also supports users in polishing the floor.

Jimmy JV85 Pro comes with a soft-roller brush that is specifically designed for cleaning hard floors.

Meanwhile, the Dyson V11 features a Digital Motorbar cleaner head, which is designed to be effective on both hard floors and carpets. This cleaning head employs stiff nylon bristles that can penetrate deep into carpets to remove dirt and dust and soft, anti-static carbon fiber filaments that capture fine dust from hard floors. It can also handle all kinds of objects in the tests. However, this machine struggles a bit to pick up some larger debris like full-size Froot Loops. Besides, its cleaning head also moves less smoothly than the JV85 Pro’s, so it may still scratch the floor.

Performance on carpets

In contrast, when on the carpet, the Dyson V11 is the better one. The stiff bristle brush roll of the Digital Motorbar cleaning head allows the vacuum to dig deeper into the carpet and pull out more dirt than every pass.

This cleaning head also has gates at the front, which are manually adjusted by the user to optimize cleaning performance on the surface being cleaned. The gates remain open when cleaning thick carpets for rolling easier, while they close when cleaning hard floors to preserve the suction power and prevent debris from scattering. This is why this machine can roll smoothly on high-pile carpets.

Meanwhile, the carpet brushroll of the JIMMY JV85 Pro is only designed for cleaning short-pile and normal carpets. On medium- and high-pile carpets, this vacuum can only clean superficially but cannot deep clean the carpet. Therefore, if your home has almost carpets, the JV85 Pro will not be my choice.

Pet hair performance

Both machines are great for picking up pet hair. Each of them comes with specialized cleaning tools such as mini motorized tools, crevice tools, and combination tools that effectively pick up hair from various surfaces. In addition, their powerful suction and brush bar technology is designed to agitate and remove hair and other debris from carpets, upholstery, and hard floors.

The Digital Motorbar cleaning head of the Dyson V11 features a series of vanes that act as a comb to remove hair from the brush roll. Likewise, the JIMMY JV85 Pro has a soft turbo brush designed as a floating head that helps to prevent hair from getting tangled around the brush.

Suction power

Overall, both vacuums have powerful suction capabilities, but the Jimmy JV85 Pro may have a slight edge when it comes to raw suction power.

The Dyson V11 features a powerful digital motor that delivers up to 185 air watts of suction power in its “Boost” mode. In its standard “Auto” mode, the suction power adjusts based on the surface being cleaned, but it still delivers a high level of suction. The “Eco” mode provides longer battery life while sacrificing some suction power. It is a more energy-efficient mode for daily cleaning tasks or when dealing with less stubborn dirt or debris.

On the other hand, the Jimmy JV85 Pro can deliver up to 200 air watts of suction power in its “Max” mode. In its standard “Auto” mode, it can adjust the suction power according to the surface being cleaned, similar to the Dyson V11.

Dirt bin and filtration

The Dyson V11

Dirt bin

In terms of volume, the Dyson V11 has a dirt bin capacity of 0.77 liters, which is larger than the Jimmy JV85 Pro’s dirt bin capacity of 0.6 liters. This means that the Dyson V11 can hold more dirt and debris before needing to be emptied, making it more frequent and convenient for cleaning large areas without interruptions.

Additionally, the V11’s dirt bin is also easier to empty. It has a hygienic point-and-shoot mechanism that allows for hands-free and mess-free emptying. With just one click, the dirt and debris collected by the vacuum are released into the trash can without the user having to touch it. Meanwhile, with the Jimmy JV85 Pro’s dirt bin, you need to press down the bottom cover, open the bin and dump all the dirt into the trash can, which can be a messy process.

Filtration

When it comes to their filtration performance, both the Dyson V11 and the Jimmy JV85 Pro are effective at capturing small particles and allergens. Their filters are all washable and reusable, which makes maintenance a breeze.

The Dyson V11 features a whole-machine filtration system that captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. It uses a combination of a pre-motor filter and a post-motor filter to trap dust, allergens, and other microscopic particles, preventing them from being released back into the air.

The Jimmy JV85 Pro also uses a multi-layer filtration system, including a HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. The cyclone separator is designed to prevent dust and debris from clogging the filters, which helps to maintain the suction power over time.

Design and convenience

Maneuverability

Both the Dyson V11 and the JIMMY JV85 Pro are fairly easy to maneuver. They all have a compact design that makes them easy to move around furniture and in tight spaces.

These two vacuums have a similar design, which allows them to function as handheld vacuums as well as stick vacuums. Each machine comes with many other attachments, allowing users to vacuum in many places, such as furniture, stairs, car interiors, and other tight spaces.

However, the JIMMY JV85 Pro is slightly heavier than the Dyson V11, making it harder to navigate and carry from place to place. The JV85 Pro weighs about 8.8 pounds, while the V11 weighs 6.53 pounds. Therefore, the JV85 can feel heavy when using it for an extended period of time, especially when cleaning above-floor areas like ceilings or high shelves.

With the JV85 Pro, the package includes a folding extension tube and a soft folding extension tube that allow for easy storage and portability. The tube can be folded in half, reducing its size for convenient storage in smaller spaces. This feature makes it easier to store the vacuum in tight closets or other small areas where space is at a premium. Additionally, these tubes are made from durable materials that ensure they can withstand repeated folding and unfolding without becoming damaged.

Storage

Each vacuum comes with a wall-mounted charging dock for convenient storage and charging. The dock can be installed quickly and easily with some screws, and in addition to the space for the unit, we also have space for storing two attachments.

The vacuum cleaner is attached to the dock by aligning it with the charging connectors on the dock and sliding it in until it clicks into place. The charging dock also has indicator lights that show the charging status of the battery, such as when it is fully charged or when it is still charging.

If you don’t want to use the docking station, these vacuums can be detached and stored on a shelf or in a closet.

Noise level

Based on my tests, the Dyson V11 has a noise level of between 70-78 decibels, while the JIMMY JV85 Pro has a noise level of between 72-82 decibels. These are just the parameters I measured based on personal experience, so please remember that they are for reference only. It’s worth noting that noise levels can vary depending on a variety of factors, including the cleaning mode being used and the type of surface being cleaned.

The reason for the difference in noise level may also be due to the design and construction of the motors in each vacuum cleaner.

Battery

The JIMMY JV85 Pro

The Dyson V11 comes with a rechargeable and removable battery that provides up to 60 minutes of runtime on a single charge. The battery has a voltage of 25.2 V and a capacity of 2,850 mAh. It takes around 4.5 hours to charge the battery fully. Additionally, the Dyson V11 features a battery-saving trigger that only uses power when you’re cleaning, helping to extend the battery life.

Thus, in effect, the V11 can last for around 60 minutes in its “Eco” mode and up to 45 minutes in “Auto” mode with the cleaning head. Auto mode is a mode where the vacuum cleaner will automatically adjust the suction power based on the type of surface that you are cleaning. The machine can only run up to 10 minutes if you run it continuously with the Digital Motorbar in “Boost” mode.

The JIMMY JV85 Pro also features a detachable battery that allows you to work for up to 70 minutes in normal mode and 12 minutes in Turbo mode. It takes around 4-5 hours to fully charge the battery, which is about the same as the Dyson V11.

Utilities

The Dyson V11

LCD display

The Dyson V11 has an LCD screen, while the Jimmy JV85 Pro doesn’t. This feature shows real-time information about the vacuum’s performance, battery life, filter maintenance, and other settings. Overall, the LCD display on the Dyson V11 is a handy feature that provides real-time information, which helps you to manage the vacuum’s settings and maintenance to ensure that it works at peak performance. The LCD screen of the Dyson V11 is located on the top of the handle and is easy to read.

Dynamic load sensor

The Dyson V11 also has a Dynamic Load Sensor (DLS) system that can automatically adjust the suction power depending on the surface being cleaned. This sensor is located at the cleaning head of the machine to detect the brush bar’s resistance. It communicates with the motor to adjust the suction power as necessary to maintain optimal cleaning performance on different floor types. Therefore, this device not only optimizes cleaning performance but also saves battery life.
