Cleaning Performance

Bissell 3-in-1
The Bissell 3-in-1 models lack a spinning brush but instead utilize a central opening for suction, making them more suitable for cleaning hard floors and picking up pet hair.
As I expected, this vacuum performed admirably in capturing fine to medium-sized debris, including heavier items like cat litter or sand, on hard floors. However, when it comes to larger debris, it tends to push them around instead of sucking them up. In such cases, I often hover the vacuum over the debris. It indeed yields better results.
What truly impressed me was their ability to effectively pick up hair on hard floors, whether it be pet hair or long human hair. The vacuum effortlessly collected the hair without any entanglement or tangling, mainly because, as mentioned earlier, there was no brush roll.
However, when it comes to vacuuming carpets, Bissell 3-in-1 falls short. While it can still pick up moderate amounts of fine to medium debris on the surface, it struggles to remove fine dirt and dust that are embedded deep within the pile. This limitation arises from the absence of a spinning brush bar, which would typically agitate the carpet to dislodge dirt particles.

In comparison to the Bissell 3-in-1, this Turbo model comes with a brush roll featuring bristles. Initially, the presence of the brush roll made me believe it would outperform the Bissell 3-in-1 when it comes to carpet vacuuming.
Indeed, thanks to its bristles, it effortlessly picks up any debris it comes across, including the copious amounts of pet hair in my home. However, it doesn’t excel in vacuuming carpets in a single pass, I have to go over an area a couple of times to ensure thorough pickup. Overall, it still performs better than the 3-in-1 models when it comes to picking up dust, debris, and hair on carpets.
However, it is also because of these bristles so much hair and dust get tangled in the spinning brush. Don’t get me wrong, it still does a decent job of suctioning up hair, but long strands tend to get entangled since it lacks anti-tangle technology. Getting the tangled hair out can be quite a hassle, particularly on the hard-to-reach sides of the brush.
Bissell claims that this vacuum is suitable for multiple floor surfaces. I tried using it on hard floors, and the results were similar to the Bissell 3-in-1. However, the vacuum tends to scatter larger debris around, necessitating multiple passes to ensure complete removal. Additionally, the brush roll cannot be turned off, posing a risk of potential floor scratching.

Assemble
Assembling and disassembling both vacuums is a breeze. They require only three parts to be assembled: the handle, handheld portion, and floor nozzle. They only take me 30s to assemble by following two simple steps:
- Insert the handle into the vacuum.
- Attach the removable floor nozzle by inserting it into the opening at the bottom of the dirt tank.
In the Turbo model, I particularly appreciate the click-lock features. It takes just two clicks to assemble it. Firstly, the handle clicks into place when inserted correctly. Secondly, attaching the floor nozzle is as simple as clicking it into position. Its nozzle has a latch on the back. Make sure to press the latch firmly to ensure it is secure.
As for the Bissell 3-in-1, the handle is held in place by a small clip. Simply align the clip with the notch, and it is fully assembled. Unlike the Turbo model, it does not have a click-in floor nozzle. Instead, you need to insert the nozzle into the designated hole, which will be held securely by tightness.

3-in-1 Design
Both the Bissell 3-in-1 model and the Bissell 3-in-1 Turbo provide versatile functionality. They serve as all-in-one cleaning solutions, offering the flexibility to use as stick, handheld, or stair vacuums.
When the floor nozzle and removable handle are detached, they can be easily converted into handheld vacuums. This allows for efficient upholstery cleaning and tackling above-floor areas. When the nozzle and handle are connected to the hand unit, they transform into practical stick vacuums, ideal for floor cleaning. The handheld part can also be used with the attached nozzle for effective stair cleaning.
Lightweight
When it comes to weight, both the Bissell 3-in-1 and Bissell 3-in-1 Turbo vacuums truly shine, coming in at less than 4 lbs. This featherlight feature allows for effortless maneuverability and makes them a breeze to carry, even up stairs or when tackling hard-to-reach areas like ceiling fans or the top corners of ceilings. Their lightweight design ensures that cleaning tasks become less of a burden and more convenient experience.
Self Standing
An often overlooked feature of them is the ability to stand upright on their own. This seemingly small detail actually offers valuable benefits. It provides more storage options, as you can simply let the vacuum stand on its own. Also, this eliminates the hassle of constantly searching for a place to set it down while taking a break or answering the phone.
Filtration System
When it comes to filtration, these vacuums are equipped with Bissell’s standard filter, which is not on par with HEPA filtration systems commonly found in higher-priced models. If you prioritize excellent filtration, these vacuums may not meet your expectations in that regard.
These filters are washable. However, if you own another vacuum, I suggest using it for vacuuming the filter instead of washing it. This simple practice helps maintain the filter’s longevity and effectiveness over time, ensuring optimal performance during your cleaning sessions.
Cord
The cord on these vacuums is relatively short, measuring approximately 15 feet. While I found it just sufficient to vacuum the entire room in my studio without needing to unplug, I understand that it may be a concern for some users. However, I personally didn’t consider it a major issue as it can easily be resolved by using an extension cord when needed.
